The Employability Practitioner Level 4 Apprenticeship
The Employability Practitioner apprenticeship develops the knowledge, skills, and behaviours needed to deliver effective employability support across diverse client groups and organisational contexts. It is suited to individuals working within employment services, the third sector, local authorities, or other organisations focused on helping people into work.
What does the Employability Practitioner assessment involve?
The apprenticeship assessment for the Employability Practitioner standard is made up of three components.
Presentation underpinned by a portfolio of evidence
Apprentices prepare and deliver a 60-minute presentation titled "A Summary of Employability Practice, Using Evidence", based on a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 6 service users drawn from the portfolio, with presentation materials submitted within 20 days of gateway approval. This is followed by 30 minutes of questioning, with up to 6 questions, delivered remotely via Microsoft Teams.
Observation
A 3-hour workplace observation where the assessor observes the apprentice interacting with a minimum of 2 service users in their normal working environment. Activities may include one-to-one guidance sessions, group work, and employer engagement, with the assessor making notes on applied knowledge, skills, and behaviours throughout.
Knowledge test
A structured knowledge test completed after gateway, assessing the breadth of knowledge required to practise effectively as an employability practitioner across core areas of the standard. Employability Practitioner assessment plan
All apprenticeship standards have an accompanying assessment plan. This document details the independent assessment that apprentices will undertake at the end of the apprenticeship. This will include details on the assessment methods and processes that will be followed.
